On September 22nd, the China Aging Development Foundation and Footlink’s Love for the Elderly Fund, in collaboration with the Beijing Normal University’s School of Government, launched a themed research activity on “Integrating Medical Care with Elderly Education” at the Happiness Elderly Care Center in Beijing. The purpose of this event is to convey care for the elderly through practical actions and to explore and learn about new models for building a healthy elderly care service system in the context of an aging population.
On September 22nd, the Happiness Elderly Care Center, located in the Shijingshan District of Beijing, is a professional institution that integrates medical care, nursing, rehabilitation, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, and palliative care for the elderly. During the event, the research and comfort teams were divided into three groups and toured various areas within the care center, including the special traditional Chinese medicine clinic, rehabilitation hall, internal medical wards, and palliative care wards. They engaged in conversations with the elderly residents, learning about their health conditions, daily needs, and the comprehensive medical and nursing services provided by the care center for elderly individuals with disabilities. Additionally, the China Aging Development Foundation’s Footlink Love for the Elderly Fund prepared compassionate charity packages for the elderly, including Footlink elderly shoes, breathable non-constricting elderly socks, and foot cream to alleviate dry and rough feet. This gesture not only assists the elderly in actively addressing physical discomfort but also allows them to feel the warmth of being cared for and valued.
In recent years, “providing care, medical services, and education for the elderly” has become a topic of common concern for society as a whole. With the increasingly apparent trend of aging population in our country, the urgent need to establish a comprehensive elderly care service system has become a significant issue. In response, the national government has proposed a series of proactive measures and encourages participation from various sectors of society. As a representative enterprise deeply involved in the elderly care industry, Footlink has actively responded to the call by organizing multiple charity events. In 2023, they officially established the “Footlink Love for the Elderly Fund,” using this as an opportunity to conduct a variety of rich and impactful charity activities. From giving shoes on Mother’s Day to supporting the “Wu Cangping Elderly Education Development Fund,” from initiating the “Silver Age Reading Development Fund” to organizing activities to enrich the spiritual world of the elderly, each initiative reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility.
As a leader in the elderly shoe industry and a significant player in the aging industry, Footlink’s participation in such on-site visits and research activities helps the company gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current status and development needs of the elderly care service industry in China. From a product perspective, this enables us to offer a more diverse, personalized, and high-quality selection for our elderly friends, contributing continuously to the high-quality development of China’s silver economy. Additionally, we maintain an open and collaborative approach, strengthening communication and cooperation with government agencies and academic institutions to actively promote greater attention and support from all sectors of society for the development of elderly care.
