On September 9th, the Public Welfare Day, the “Love for Seniors” initiative, launched by the China Aging Development Foundation and the Zuliz Love for Seniors Fund, officially commenced in Sanquan Village, Shanxi Province. The launch ceremony was held at the village’s general branch committee, aiming to deliver essential living supplies and care to elderly residents in need, thereby enhancing their quality of life.
On the day of the event, the volunteers of the “Love for Seniors” initiative, accompanied by village officials, visited the homes of the elderly beneficiaries. They delivered essential living supplies, such as rice, flour, and cooking oil, along with 600 yuan as quarterly pocket money. The volunteers also helped the seniors try on Zuliz shoes, which deeply touched the elderly residents.
With the strong support from the village officials, this event was a great success.
I represent all the elderly in our village to express our gratitude to the China Aging Development Foundation and the Zuliz Love for Seniors Initiative for choosing Sanquan Village as the first stop. Moving forward, our village committee will be a strong ‘helper’ and fully cooperate with the Zuliz Love for Seniors Fund to implement these charitable projects, ensuring that the elderly truly feel the warmth. We also hope that starting from our village, more rural seniors can benefit from such wonderful initiatives!
Liu Xudan, the Deputy Director of the Zuliz Love for Seniors Fund, shared that the charitable activities in Sanquan Village are just the beginning. Moving forward, the project will distribute care packages to the elderly every three months to ensure their daily lives are supported.
Liu also expressed: “We hope to establish the Sanquan Village public welfare project as a model case, promoting love and charitable initiatives in rural areas across the country. Additionally, we aim to attract attention from all sectors of society through this project, encouraging more caring businesses and individuals to join us in contributing to the well-being of rural seniors.”
